Fancy Cellar Wine Club - December 2015
For December we selected for you two wines from Alsace of Domaine Sparr Baumann that are perfect for this time of the year.
Alsace wine or Alsatian wine (in French: Vin d'Alsace) is produced in the Alsace region in France (North-east, near Germany) and is primarily white. These wines, which for historical reasons have a strong Germanic influence. Germanic grape varieties like Gewurztraminer and Riesling dominate the French département, but in Alsace they are produced in a very different style. Alsace white wines are particularly popular during Christmas and New Year Celebrations in Europe and all over the world.
Family SPARR, 12th generation of winemakers, insures the sustainability of the dynastic know-how… Since 1634, the SPARR Family has been writing the story of Alsace wines and wines growers fascinatedly. Located in the world-renowned medieval city of Riquewihr, their vineyard spans 17 hectares and offers a range of subtle smells, colors and tastes. With a name that evokes quality and symbolizes innovation and discovery, the Sparr-Baumann Estate has promoted the traditional values of Alsace wines since 1634.
